Your peace may not lie
In finding the answers
But in accepting uncertainty
In holding the immense “Why“
With tenderness
And without scorn
And if you turn your face repeatedly
Towards the flickering lights
Then one day
You may find yourself
Under a freer sky
In a street full of splendid answers–
But your heart cannot hold them yet.
Your eye has not yet seen.
Your ear has not yet heard.
No reason will satisfy
Until the immensity of that Word.
But look and listen
For the goodness here,
Even now,
In the land of the living
The promise: you will see it
